The knight Caius Iulius Alexander led successfully, under the reign of Severus Alexander, a reliquatio of the fleets of Misenum and Ravenna, which supported the Persian campaign of the emperor. Philippus the Arab named him prefect of the first one. Four others were simple sailors, among whom two died before the end of their time of service. The third one was freed with the honesta missio, while he was removed to Carnuntum. The last one was integrated into the legion I Adiutrix.
