National audienceThe concepts of cultural heritage and historical monuments are often confused in everyday language. However, they are composed of distinct notions in particular with regard to meaning and have different chronologies. It is necessary here to focus on an analysis of the unfolding relationships that societies have sustained with these two notions while dwellingon the development of sensitivities in particular.
