Língua – vidas em Português (2004), by Victor Lopes, shows the presence of Portuguese culture and language from around the world; the basis of representation of the lusophone universe are Goa, Mozambique, Brazil, Portugal, and Japan. Our work stems from the hypothesis that opinions, feelings, practices and behaviors manifested in Portuguese by common individuals present in the documentary can indicate significant elements for the comprehension of Lusophony. It is by the social spaces they occupy that their speech can be taken as a way of life, which encompasses opinions of the Portuguese language and representations of the culture they belong to, emphasizing relations between local meanings and those originating from abroad.
