With the objective of conserving in vitro the species Tectona grandis L. and Swietenia macrophylla King, through the technique of minimum growth under in vitro conditions, the mannitol concentration was evaluated (10 g L-1, 15 g L-1, 20 g L-1 and 30 g L-1), as well as the application of a layer of mineral oil (2 ml) in combination with three temperatures (18 °C, 24 °C, 28 °C). In T. grandis, the mineral oil reduced growth significantly, but it decreased the number of buds and the vigor, while in S. macrophylla, it increased growth and decreased the number of buds and vigor of the explant.
