CARACTERÍSTICAS MORFOMÉTRICAS Y GERMINACION DE SEMILLAS DE Cedrela odorata L.

With the objective of identifying the quality of the seed of Cedrelaodorata L. in trees with desirable dasometric variables to be consideredcandidates to become parent trees, the seed from 60 trees wascollected in different environments of Chiapas, México, duringFebruary and March 2017. Once the seed was harvested, the researchwas carried out in the Laboratory of Forest Seeds from the School ofAgricultural Sciences Campus IV (UNACH). Different variables weredetermined according to the rules of the International Seed TestingAssociation (ISTA, 2010), 15 days after their collection; the variableswere: weight of 100 seeds (g), percentage of germination and purity,moisture (CH) and viability (tetrazolium). The essays were establishedin a completely random experimental design with three repetitionsof 30 seeds from each tree. The results were graphed with the SigmaPlot software (ver. 10.0) by Jandel Scientific, and the standard errorwas considered as a dispersion measurement in the averages. Thestatistical analysis was performed through the GLM software from SASversion 8.1, and the differences between means according to Tukey(p?0.05). The results indicated that the most contrasting variables werethe weight of the seed, the percentage of germination and the numberof seeds per kg-1. The lowest germination of the seeds collected wasfound in the physiographic regions: coastal plains close to the littoral.The ecosystems Sierra Lacandona, South of Chiapas and Coastal Plaintoward the Chiapas Sierra Madre, were suggested as environments toselect parent trees of Cedrela odorata L. with presence of rains all yearlong and abundant rains in the summer (3000-3500 mm), temperaturesof 20-28 |C, Leptosol, Cambisol, Regosol and/or Phaeozem soils, andaltitude of 500 to 1000 m.Con el objetivo de identificar la calidad de semilla de Cedrela odorata L. en árboles con variables dasométricas deseablespara ser considerados candidatos a árboles padre, se recolectó la semilla de 60 árboles en diferentes ambientes deChiapas, México, durante febrero y marzo del 2017. Una vez cosechada la semilla, la investigación se realizó en elLaboratorio de Semillas forestales de la Facultad de Ciencias Agrícolas Campus IV (UNACH). Se determinaron diversasvariables de acuerdo a las reglas de la International Seed Testing Association (ISTA, 2010) a los 15 días después de surecolecta; las variables fueron, peso de 100 semillas (g), porcentaje de germinación y de pureza, humedad (CH) y deviabilidad (tetrazolio). Se establecieron los ensayos en Diseño experimental completamente al azar con tres repeticionesde 30 semillas de cada árbol. Los resultados se graficaron con el programa Sigma Plot (ver. 10.0) de Jandel Scientific yse consideró el error estándar como medida de dispersión en los promedios. El análisis estadístico mediante elprograma GLM de SAS versión 8.1 y las diferencias entre medias según Tukey (p?0.05). Los resultados indicaronque las variables más contrastantes fueron el peso de la semilla, porcentaje de germinación y númerode semillas por kg-1. La menor germinación de las recolectas se registró en la región fisiográficaLlanura costera cercana al litoral. Los ecosistemas Sierra Lacandona, Sur de Chiapasy Llanura Costera hacia la sierra madre de Chiapas, se sugieren como ambientespara seleccionar árboles padres de Cedrela odorata L. con presencia delluvias todo el año o abundantes lluvias en verano (3000-3500 mm),temperaturas de 20-28 °C, suelos litosoles, cambisoles, regosolesy/o Phaeozem y altitud de 500 a 1000 m
