The constant use of the term fellowship as related to the concept of visible unity in the evangelical movement raised some questions as to the relationship of one to the other. The researcher wanted to obtain a thorough understanding of koinonia or fellowship as it was found in the Bible. This concept of fellowship was then to be related to the motivating factors of evangelical ecumenism. It was the desire of the researcher to find if the concept of koinonia as it related to the concepts of the evangelicals to unite were compatible
