The Importance of Central and Eastern Europe for Austria's Foreign Trade

The increasing importance of Eastern Europe for Austria's foreign trade has given a considerable boost to the growing level of internationalisation among Austrian businesses. Austria's export of goods has almost doubled over the past 15 years, and more than a third of this successful internationalisation drive derived from exports into the CEE region. In 2008, 23.3 percent of all exports of Austrian goods were destined for the CEEC 21.
