Modern communication technologies enable recruitment interviews to be held remotely through the use of video conferencing. However, the effective deployment of such services, at a standard comparable to traditional face-toface interviews, requires an integrated hardware and software environment to support a wide range of activities during recruitment interviews. In this paper, we present a system for such an environment, and demonstrate how multimedia communications are managed in the environment and how they can be used to assist the interviews in ways that would not be easily achievable in traditional face-to-face interviews. 1
