Over the past two decades, Geographic Information Systems (GISs) have been widely used in many applications. Nowadays, many Internet-based GISs provide the users with the most up-to-date geodata and on-line geoprocessing services. One of the main problems with Internet-based GIS technology is that the speed of the data transferring is affected by the speed of the Internet connection and the type of the data to be transferred.
