The World Wide Web has become the primary means for information retrieval. Due to the volume of information and limited resources of network bandwidth it is demanding for users to efficiently find desired information. Users suffer from web access latency as well as from glut of unnecessary irrelevant information. Prefetching together with caching are important techniques to reduce the average web access latency. Extraction of semantic information from objects present on web can help to reduce amount of obtained irrelevant information. This paper presents recently used techniques of prefetching and suggests new idea of semantic prefetching
