3.0(GT3) are introduced in this paper. A distributed simulation system based on Grid computing is developed, working mechanism and architecture model of this system are also discussed in this paper. Simultaneously, a distributed simulation experimentation about lightning electromagnetic field is implemented in Grid computing environment. The result indicates that computing capacity can be greatly improved by using Grid computing in advanced distributed simulation system
