Perosomus horridus is an anomaly of foetal development characterised by skeletal defects leading to foetal dystocia. Craig (1959) and Roberts (1971) have dealt in detail about monstrosities leading to dystocia in animals. Developmental anomalies affecting the bovine embryos have been well recorded (Roberts, loc.cit., Morrow, 1986). Perosomus horridus is reported to occur in cattle but no such report in sheep was found upon perusal of literature, hence this case report
