CENTIMETRES ACROSS SYDNEY: FIRST RESULTS FROM THE SYDNET CORS NETWORK

This paper presents the first results, from a users ’ perspective, of the precision and accuracy of the SydNET system in post processed, single base and networked RTK modes. SydNET is a network of continuously operating reference stations (CORS) located in the Sydney metropolitan area. The SydNET project is fully funded and managed by the NSW Department of Lands (DoL). Researchers at the University of NSW (UNSW) are using SydNET as research infrastructure for a range of projects. SydNET also contributes nationally to GNSS studies via the Cooperative Research Centre for Spatial Information (CRC-SI). At present, logged observation data from all SydNET stations is available via the Lands website. Users are able to download RINEX files from any station for any specified time period. Since the data is stored using a uniquely designed relational database system for GNSS observations, users can specify their preferred length and frequency of observations.
