Tutkimuksen tarkoitus: Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli evaluoida polyeetterieetteriketoni (PEEK) -materiaalista valmistettujen yksilöllisten implanttien soveltuvuutta leuka- ja kasvoluiden rekonstruktiossa. Materiaalit ja menetelmät: Retrospektiivisen tutkimuksen aineisto sisältää 24 potilasta, joille tehtiin leuka- ja kasvoluiden rekonstruktiivisia leikkauksia käyttäen yksilöllisiä PEEK- implantteja. PEEK on osakiteinen, aromaattinen polymeeri, joka sopii implanttimateriaaliksi muun muassa sen mekaanisen vahvuuden, allergisoimattomuuden ja epämagneettisuuden vuoksi. PEEK-implantit suunniteltiin ja valmistettiin preoperatiivisesti otettujen tietokonetomografiakuvien pohjalta. Implanttisuunnittelu tapahtui kirurgin ja insinöörin yhteistyöllä....
