The conceptual design stage is composed of several stages like: preliminary design, analysis and detailing. The process of synthesis is very important in the first one stage. The synthesis should form part of knowledge based environment. Each module has individual defined function and is independent, like inference engine. The synthesizer is the module that accomplishes the synthesis. The inference engine, as a generic module, calls the synthesizer to generate solutions for a specific design goal. We propose architecture for a synthesizer that is based on the problem reduction approach. Problem knowledge contains data and constrains. Knowledge base consists of the descriptions of all objects, which cooperate for problem solution
