The SEARCH (Search Envisioned As Relation & Class Hierarchizing) framework developed elsewhere (Kargupta, 1995; Kargupta & Goldberg, 1996a; Kargupta & Goldberg, 1996b) offered an alternate perspective toward blackbox optimization---optimization in presence of little domain knowledge.
