This paper considers the generation of chaotic signals and selected application fields with emphasis to measurements. Table 1.1 summarises the features for the application of chaotic systems and signals in different signal processing schemes. The second column describes properties which make chaos applications comparable and thus alternative to conventional techniques whereas the third column lists the properties which make the use of chaotic signals advantageous in comparison with existing solutions in the corresponding processing scheme.
