this paper will be to analyze the 3G wireless market and two of the main proposed air interface standards, Wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) and cdma2000. It will be our conclusion that a single global standard will not result from the IMT-2000 process, but rather a series of hybrid and non-interoperable protocols that will adversely affect the 3G wireless market acceptance for broadband services.
