The Versatile Advection Code is a general purpose hydrodynamic and magnetohydrodynamic software package. It uses modern shock capturing schemes with explicit or implicit time stepping on one, two, or three dimensional finite volume grids. Initial and boundary conditions and different source terms can be defined by parameters and/or user written subroutines. The Versatile Advection Code can be compiled with a Fortran 77, Fortran 90, or High Performance Fortran compiler and it runs efficiently on platforms ranging from personal computers and work stations to vector and parallel supercomputers.
