This study aims to determine the effect of holding time on the AISI 1045 steel tempering heat treatment, Heat Treatment is carried out to obtain the appropriate Holding Time Variation in the Heat Treatment process. Holding Time variation is done is 2 hours - 4 hours. The highest hardness test results occur in 2 hours, a long holding time will result in a decrease in the value of material hardness. The highest tensile test results were obtained at 4 hours. The most effective variation of holding time in this heat treatment tempering is 2 hours
