An Analysis of Jargon used in Gitasurya Student Choir

Jargon is one of the language varieties which is commonly created by particular society. Jargon is a slang term used in conceivable science, profession, trade and occupation. They also add that the reason to specialized terminology is for clarity of communication, but part is also for speakers to identify themselves with persons with whom they share interests. The study focuses on the jargon found in one community and knowing the meaning of the jargon. This study is qualitative research using descriptive research design. The object of the study is jargon found in Gitasurya Student Choir. The research data taken from interview and analyze the music score. Moreover, the main instrument used in collecting the data in this study is member of Gitasurya Student Choir. The result of this study shows that there are twenty jargon was found in Gitasurya Student Choir. The total number of jargons found can be classified into four word of classes including jargon as noun, verb, adjective and adverb.
