PEMAKNAAN IBU RUMAH TANGGA TENTANG GAYA HIDUP DALAM DRAMA SERI KOREA DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN DI TELEVISI (Studi Respsi pada Ibu Rumah Tangga RW.10 RT.02 Kel-Ngaglik Kota Batu)

The research background of this research is based on the existence of Korean Drama that has a love story between soldiers and doctors. This story becomes interesting for housewifes who love romantic dramas. In addition to his story, Descendants of the Sun has a different lifestyle background than most Korean dramas. The purpose of the study was to determine the meaning of housewives about lifestyle in the Korean drama series Descedants of the Sun. This research is a descriptive qualitative research method used in this research using Struar Hall's reception study explaining the encoding-decoding process to interpret audience perceptions. In determining the informant, a purposive sampling technique was used in which the informant was selected with specific considerations and objectives, in this case the housewifes selected RW.10 RT.02 Kelurahan Sisir, Batu City, which was in accordance with the variables studied and liked the Korean drama. To obtain data, an in-depth interview was documented. Test the validity of research data using triangulation of data sources to find the truth and compare from data obtained using official records, personal writing, pictures or photos. Where in the interpretation of media content by the public, Stuart Hall divided it into three categories, name Dominant Reading, Negotiated Reading and Oppositional Reading. Housewifes interpret the value of simplicity, they see from the clothes and accessories that are used do not look excessive so they are in the dominant reading category. . In the category of negotiated reading in interpreting lifestyles in the Korean drama series Descedants of the Sun, housewifes are not necessarily swallow what they see, they can distinguish between positive or negative values. In the oppositional reading category housewifes disagree with adult scenes and drinking alcohol. According to them not in accordance with Indonesian culture and their lifestyles, housewifes are also worried that there are viewers who follow things like because Korean drama enthusiasts now don't know age
