The study aims to determine the effect of SMAW current variations (Shielding Metal Arc Welding) distortion, hardness and tensile strength of the joint Stainless Steel 304 carbon steel A 36 with Electrode E308-16. Current variations used are 60 amper, 70 amper and 80 amper, After the welding process, proceed to prepare the 3 welded matrial using 3 different current variations to determine the level of distortion, next make 9 specimens for tensile testing with of UH 30A SHIMADZU, 3 specimens for hardness testing, after which the distortion test, were carried out.
