There is a paucity of software tools available for the simulation of cache systems. Dinero III [Hill 1992], written in C, is the only one known to the authors to be accessible to the research community. This tool simulates simple data and instruction cache organizations and is not applicable to the more complex modern-day cache systems that are appearing in the literature and in industry. In this paper, we propose an application framework to provide a set of services for the simulation of caching systems.
