Abstract: Food and feeding habit of silverbelly Leiognathus dussumieri (Valenciennes) collected from trawl catches at Thoothukudi Fishing Harbour was analysed for two years. Zooplanktons constituted the major food of the fish and females were found to be more active feeders than males. Active feeding i
