The transformation of sunflower oil into green diesel has been studied over three series of catalysts. The first series involved nickel catalysts supported on alumina with varying nickel loading in the range (0-100% wt nickel). The second series involved selected non-promoted catalysts of the first series, prepared under slightly different conditions, and corresponding catalysts promoted by small amounts of zinc. The third series involved selected non-promoted catalysts of the first series, prepared under slightly different conditions, and corresponding catalysts promoted by small amounts of cooper.
