Abstract—A simple ac-dc converter that can perform to improve power factor correction is proposed in this paper. The converter topology is very simple, as this method of control used to achieve power factor correction. In this paper, the operation of the converter is explained and analyzed. Finally the efficiency of the new converter is compared with that of a previously proposed converter and it is shown that the new converter has better efficiency, particularly for light load operation
