Magnetocaloric materials are promising in the realization of some thermodynamic machines in substitution of high thermal capacitance fluids. The authors focused on the choice of a suitable material for a refrigerator or a chiller, evaluating excitation induction, temperature range and temperature-entropy product. The authors further concentrated on different magnetic excitation circuits and materials, including traditional and bonded magnets and Halbach magnetization. For each proposed configuration the suitable permanent magnet excitation materials are indicated
