Rationale. Despite receiving triple inhalation therapy and undergoing pulmonary rehabilitation,approximately 50-90% of adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) suffer frompersistent and disabling breathlessness and exercise intolerance. Therefore, adjunct therapiestargeted to improve exertional breathlessness and exercise tolerance are urgently needed to helpoptimize disease management and health outcomes in COPD. Objective.
