In the 1960s, at the beginning of the Revolution, Cuban Psychiatry underwent a radical transformation. While in Cuba, the Soviet model was copied, and the government declared Socialism as the only political alternative, the Cuban psychiatrists who supported Marxism-Leninism occupied the central positions of power. In this way, Pavlovism and Reflexology were established as the only theories allowed to guide the psychiatric clinic.
