The Ministry of Health in Indonesia recorded 237,181 Indonesian nurses under conditions of work stress. Stress could increase the cortisol hormones, which is known as stress hormones. Cortisol might be lower the immune system and it impacted to the health condition. Previous studies found that humor can provide psychological wellness as well as stress coping for adults. Laughs from humor could decrease the cortisol that might be increasing the immune system. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between sense of humor and job stress on nurses in the emergency room and ICU.
