Perovskites (ABO3), and especially double perovskites (A'A''B'B''O6) provide an exceptionally versatile template for chemical substitution and fine-tuning of physical and chemical properties, including magnetic interactions. The geometry of B-site ordered double perovskites especially supports useful magnetic interactions, from ferromagnetism to exotic ground states such as half-metallicity and frustrated spin states. However, the vast space of hypothetic perovskite compositions poses a challenge in finding the elemental combinations with optimal properties.
