To simulate global mercury (Hg) dynamics in chemical transport models (CTMs), surface-atmosphere exchange of gaseous elemental mercury, Hg[superscript 0], is often parameterized based on resistance-based dry deposition schemes coupled with a re-emission function, mainly from soils.
