Urban landscape work from Billingham' series 'Black Country' was exhibited in the '7th International Photo Triennial', Esslingen, Germany (1 July - 23 September 2007). This International Photo-Triennial tackled the question of the relationship between Identity and Home. Where is home? What fosters identity in a modern, globalised world? The artists photography highlighted the possibilities for, or impossibility of, finding an identity. Besides Richard Billingham other artists included Katharina Bosse, Jean le Gac, Jan Koster and Cecile Wick, Teresa Margolle, Santiago Sierra, Jo Ractliffe and Andrew Tshabangu.
