A thermodynamical model of the six poles solid solution MgAl₂O₄, MgCr₂O₄, MgFe₂O₄, FeAl₂O₄, FeFe₂O₄, is derived from simple hypothesis. This model can be employed for the calculation of activities of the six constituents in natural spinels and thus for the measurement of important parameters such as oxygen fugacity when, for instance, the mineral paragenesis contains olivine and orthopyroxene in addition to spinel.Il est possible, moyennant un certain nombre d'hypothèses simples, de créer un modèle thermodynamique des solutions solides à six pôles MgAl₂O₄, MgFe₂O₄, FeAl₂O₄, FeFe₂O₄, FeCr₂O₄.
