The Interstate Compact for Juveniles is a legal agreement between 49 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands that regulates the interstate movement of children who: Have run away from home and left their state of residence without permission; Are under court supervision on probation, parole, and have absconded to another state; Have been accused of an offense in another state; Are in need of institutionalization or special services in another state; and/or Require probation/parole supervision services when they relocate to another state. It also gives a telephone directory of DJJ offices throughout the state
