In der endständigen Position oberflächlicher Glykoproteine und Glykolipide nehmen Sialinsäuren im Rahmen des viralen Replikationszyklus eine Schlüsselrolle ein. Die Substratpermissivität verschiedener Enzyme in der Sialinsäurebiosynthese erlaubt die chemische Veränderung sialinsäuretragender Glykokonjugate. Ziel dieser Arbeit war es, künstlich sialylierte Glykokonjugate anzureichern und diese als potentielle Virostatika zu untersuchen.
