Nuove tecnologie 3D per lo studio e la valorizzazione dei Beni Culturali, applicate al progetto Aquae Patavinae e al Museo del Termalismo

The Aquae Patavinae project is working since 2005 and it is managed by the Department of Cultural Heritage of University of Padua. The project goals are the studying of the Euganean Thermal area and its settlement phases, connected to the use of thermal resources, and the constitution of an enhancement system in the framework of the Museum of Thermalism whose the project is ongoing. In this approach, the recontextualization of some assets, found inside the zone but preserved outside, and the geodata organization into a common system are required. Some case studies extending spatial-temporal limits are analysed. The research goal is to track and to follow a multidisciplinary approach, where 3D survey reality-based techniques are integrated on and with traditional procedures therefore accurate and textured geometric models of mobile assets are returned and multi-sources geodata identifying natural and anthropic transformations are provided. Finally, multidimensional 2D, 2.5D and 3D presentations of historical landscape are visualized. Furthermore, considering museum expositions and new ways of communication, innovative systems to manage, visualize and enhance data are experimented. They are based on serious games, like virtual reality and augmented reality and they constitute edutainment systems, where entertainment and education are linked together. The results have extended the Aquae Patavinae project research, examining new case studies and digitizing some archaeological finds and cultural heritage, related to territory. The 2D, 2.5D and 3D acquired data are been formatted in order to get interoperable data for management and using into different applications and hardware/software platforms. These data come with metadata and paradata, according to the last guidelines. Besides, new analyses are developed, integrating multi-sources and multi-functions systems and proposing a framework, where the contents are organized to highlight the semantic value of the cultural heritag
