This paper is an expansion on ideas discussed in the format of an artist talk/Q&A with Dr Cat Hope at the 2011 Totally Huge New Music Festival Conference. The discussions focused on my commissioned piece Mothlight (2011) for Decibel, as well as influences on my work and projects, including my time in Berlin with composer Peter Ablinger.
