This article focuses on the theorizing of organizational inclusion. As most scholarly work on the conceptualization of organizational inclusion seems to be implicitly based on high-wage labor organizations, this article questions whether the components of organizational inclusion as identified by Shore et al. (2018) align with the core aspects of low-wage labor organizations. Our respective analysis identifies several mismatches in the current conceptualizations of organizational inclusion and offers suggestions for adapting them: by paying attention to (1) a recognition of material conditions, (2) a reinterpretation of voice, and (3) a changed focus from instrumentality to relationality.
