The wide development of sensors in the last twenty years, resulted in a faster development of their electronic interfaces. In particular, the new interest in the field of portable spectroscopy requires high voltage and high current stimuli with the aim of properly driving HP actuators. Within this context, a CMOS class-AB operational amplifier with High voltage and current capability is designed, starting from the definition of the circuital topology to the final layout. The amplifier operates with up to 16V power supply voltages. In addition, a current source configuration is proposed in order to reach the target of output positive and negative currents up to 500mA
