This report is based on interim findings from a longitudinal study of the policing of protests against onshore oil and gas extraction in England. This research has been conducted by a team of academic researchers from Liverpool John Moores University, the University of York, and the School of Advanced Study, University of London. The research team have been studying the policing of anti-fracking protests in England since 2013 and this report contains findings from the period 2016 to 2019. The researchers have visited sites in Lancashire, Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Surrey and Sussex and the report seeks to centralise the experiences of those involved in protests against fracking.
