Abstract

Excerpt from page 77 of "B.C.'s Inland Empire" by Erskine Burnett associated with this image: Grande Prairie was first settled many years ago and is devoted mainly to stock-raising. Its name would indicate that it was always open country and did not have to be cleared. Cattle and horses run on the range during the summer and in winter are fed on hay put up on the bottom lands. At the east end of the district lies the ranch operated by F. H. Wilmot, the well known horse breeder
