Abstract: Letters and other materials regarding this University of Alabama librarian; most of the collection relates to her illness and death.Scope and Content Note: The collection includes letters to her from John MacKenzie Cory, director of University of Alabama Libraries, relating to a raise and leave of absence. The bulk of the collection relates to her death and subsequent memorials to her at the University of Alabama; these materials include letters to her parents, obituaries, and programs of a memorial service.Biographical/Historical Note: Margaret Ella Faulk, daughter of Dr. William Mark and Ella Margaret Leland Faulk, was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on 28 December 1907. She was educated at Sullins College (in Bristol, Tennessee) and graduated from the University of Alabama and Columbia University. She was the librarian at the University of Alabama when she died of cancer on 10 December 1940, just days short of her 33rd birthday
