Letters contain family updates and news of neighbors, and many were sent from Newfield, New York.Scope and Content Note: Contains twenty-three letters written to John Linderman and/or his wife Lucy from 1855 to 1873, with the majority from between 1855 and 1860. Most are from family members: niece Roana Snyder; John's brother E.S. Linderman; cousin Rush Labar; and Almira Balcock, who was possibly Lucy's mother. A few were addressed to Mary Linderman, who was possibly John's mother. Almira's letters are poorly spelled, and most of Roana's were written when she was a child.
