Abstract: Marcia Cassady writes to her mother, Anna, from the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. She details the exhibits. Later C.A. Smith writes to Marcia about the vegetation of Florida where he vacations. He also mentions the Ohio floods.Scope and Content Note: Marcia Cassady details the exhibits of the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair in a letter to her mother, Anna. Exhibits and shows included the native Philippines, Native American Reservation, Cajun Village, Jerusalem, Ireland, and Japan. She briefly compares the St. Louis World's Fair to the 1893 Chicago World's Fair. In the letters to Marcia Cassady, C.A. Smith writes of the wildlife of Florida and the Gulf Coast including natural vegetation, fishing, and crabbing. He also mentions the Ohio floods that are very near Marcia's home of Cleves, Ohio, and suggests a trip to Atlantic City. Letters are written on hotel stationery of the Bradford and DeVille.
