State crime statistics show that the number of youths charged in arson cases increased from 65 in 1992 to 88 in 1993, prompting state fire officials to launch an information program to teach parents about the dangers of youngsters who play with fire. The project is the result of a collaborative effort by a 22-member statewide task force, and will coincide with National Fire Prevention Week, which begins October 9
