A group of Unum Corp. executives called the Customer Value Team in 1992 started work on a project that over the next three to five years will devote $100 million to a massive restructuring of the company. The team looked at other businesses that they felt had valuable lessons to offer, and later examined how Unum served its customers and what should or shouldn\u27t be changed.
