Justice William E. McKinley yesterday sentenced Robert C. Hornbarger, 48, the Pennsylvania truck driver involved in a fatal accident on the Maine Turnpike on October 10, 1993, to four months in jail and a $1,000 fine for falsifying his logbook. McKinley said he hoped the sentence would send a message to truckers to obey the laws and stop driving when fatigued. The jail sentence is the first in the state for a trucker convicted of falsifying a logbook. Details, related articles
