Since 1982, the S. D. Warren mill in Westbrook has made substantial profits selling excess power to Central Maine Power Co. (CMP), and the expiration of the mill\u27s power contract in 1997 will make it less attractive to potential buyers. The S. D. Warren mill in Westbrook in 1993 received $46.8 million from CMP for power generated, the second highest amount paid by the utility to an independent power producer. The highest amount paid by CMP for power from an independent producer was the $47.2 million the utility paid the S. D. Warren mill in Hinckley in 1993. Details
